Thomas R. Goulet: Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner

Tom Goulet is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Beacon Energy Partners.  Along with Joe and John Vaughan, Goulet is an original founding member of Beacon Energy Partners, and has more than twenty years experience working with Beacon’s management team.  Tom provides Beacon with the unique financial acumen he has gained during a thirty year career in finance.

Goulet is a senior executive with experience as a financial analyst, controller, chief financial officer, securities broker with an investment bank, and venture capitalist. Prior to joining the team at Beacon Energy Partners, Tom was founder and managing director, for sixteen years, of Beacon Capital, Inc., a Boston-based venture capital firm. Beacon Capital financed early stage companies with a focus on oil and gas production, electronic commerce, cable television, cellular telephone towers, retail franchise development, and co-generation. Beacon Capital financed clients including Smart Food Popcorn, Boston Chicken, Blockbuster Video, and Marathon Technologies. Beacon Capital also financed real estate development, and sourced replacement properties for Section 1031 Like Kind Exchange.

Tom’s previous experience includes serving as chief financial officer for Woodside Travel ($11 Billion Sales), the world’s largest global business travel conglomerate, which serviced over 70% of the Fortune 500 corporations. Goulet was also employed as Vice President of Securities (private placements) for Winthrop Financial, the first ranked private equity real estate syndicater in the United States.

Goulet is a 1982 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, MA, with a B.A. in Finance and Marketing, and has attended the Harvard University Extension Program.

Tom is a dedicated advocate for the advancement of underprivileged youth, volunteering his time in programs dedicated to academic and athletic achievement. Tom founded ADDvantage Institute, a non-profit program for children and families afflicted with learning disabilities. For the past six years, Goulet has coached the Dorchester Pop Warner League football team, comprised of inner-city teens. Goulet is instrumental in facilitating relationships with prep schools, colleges, and universities, working to create opportunities for his promising young charges. Tom also founded the Pop Warner League football team in Concord and Carlisle, MA. Goulet is a dedicated member of Rotary International.

Joseph C. Vaughan: Partner, and Chief Operating Officer

Joseph C. Vaughan is the Chief Operating Officer of Beacon Energy Partners.  Mr. Vaughan has been a land professional in the oil and gas industry since 1977, and is an invaluable member of the Beacon Energy Partners team.  Each operating property is identified, then extensively and exhaustively researched by Mr. Vaughan.  Once a prospective property has exceeded the stringent, selective vetting standards Vaughan has established, only then will Beacon Energy Partners recommend such a production property to a client.  Mr. Vaughan and Beacon Energy Partners insist that each operating well selected have the greatest possible potential for production, and therefore qualify as a property most likely to ensure dividends long after a client’s initial investment has been returned.

Joseph C. Vaughan began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1977 as a Prospect Landman for Rambler Oil Company. He then ascended the ranks of Rambler Oil, working as Land Manager, before being named their Vice President of Land in 1983. In 1988, Vaughan founded Palo Duro Production Company, a closely held oil and gas production company which he still manages for his family. Joe was subsequently offered and accepted a position as Pipeline Right-of-Way Coordinator for Chesapeake Energy Corporation in its Louisiana Austin Chalk project in 1996. Later, Vaughan was promoted by Chesapeake, to Land Manager for their Southern Oklahoma District. After a twelve year career, Vaughan elected to leave Chesapeake Energy and work for himself as an independent consulting landman. Vaughan later joined forces with his brother, John, and Thomas Goulet, to form Beacon Energy Partners.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he is an active alumnus. Vaughan is also an active member of both the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen (OCAPL). Vaughan’s personal life revolves around his family. He enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren at his Lake Texoma vacation home.

John F. Vaughan: Partner, Chief Development Officer

John F. Vaughan is a partner and Chief Development Officer of Beacon Energy Partners.  Mr. Vaughan’s career in the oil and gas industry began as a Field Landman for Southern Resources, Inc.  Shortly thereafter, Vaughan was promoted to Land Manager for Southern Resources. In 1987, John accepted an offer to work as Land Manager for Grand Production Company, which was later purchased by Northport Production Company, for whom John continued to work.

At Northport Production Company, John gained invaluable experience in virtually all aspects of managing an oil and gas exploration company. John became expert at both negotiating oil and gas drilling ventures and producing property acquisitions, as well as sales. John excels at all phases of production operations, in addition to the marketing of oil and gas products. John’s versatility in every area of oil and gas production is essential to the success of Beacon Energy Partners.

Vaughan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business, with a major in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma, where he also was conferred a Masters degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in finance and economics. Currently John is a member of the Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen.

John and his wife, Julie, have three children. For many years John has volunteered his time as a soccer coach for several teams in his hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma. John has served as Cubmaster for Edmond’s Cub Scout organization, and has also volunteered his time as an adult leader for the local Boy Scout troop.
